Diving around Bunaken
When you talk about diving around Bunaken it is likely you are talking about SCUBA diving Bunaken National Park. It is a world famous marine park for SCUBA diving in the middle of the coral triangle.
Bunaken National Park consist of various islands and a coastal area of North Sulawesi itself. The main islands are called Bunaken Island, Siladen Island, Manado Tua Island and Mantehage Island.
One of the reasons diving Bunaken is special comes from the depth of the sea. The sea depth between the islands reaches 1850 meters / 6037 feet.
With over 8,000 hectares (80 square km) of coral reef in the Bunaken National Park it might not be a surprise that there are over 50 different species of corals for you to discover.
Are you more into fish? It is estimated that there are over 2000 species of fish present in Bunaken National Park. North Sulawesi lays in the Indo-Pacific region or better: The coral triangle.
